Geneva Watch Days 2023: Ulysse Nardin

Blast Free Wheel Marquetry is a completely new design concept for displaying the Ulysse Nardin movement.

The brand that was the first to implement silicon in watchmaking in the early 2000s this time decided to show its decoration capacities in a Blast series. The mainplate of the presented Blast Free Wheel Marquetry is made from silicon and covered with a sapphire glass case.

For UN it is also the new way to display the UN-176 calibre with an anchor constant escapement and a flying tourbillon. Like in a mystery watch, the wheels of the timepiece are flying over the blue silicon surface because the movement is turned upside down. The heart of this watch beats at 2,5 Hz and has a 7'day power reserve.

The watch measures 45 mm in diameter and 12 mm in height and it does pop out on a wrist. A really nice new member of the UN Blast family.
