PRIMETIME - April 2020

Watchmaking in the News.

Can you imagine that at this time we should be totally swamped and overwhelmed by seeing all the new watches which should have been presented at Watches & Wonders and Baselworld. But no, we are sitting nicely in our Geneva Old Town club and bringing you another type of PRIMETIME as we will go over some other newsworthy stories of the industry.

Naturally this includes a follow up on the Baselworld situation because as predicted it didn’t take long for the LVMH brands, Hublot, TAG Heuer, Bulgari and Zenith to announce their departure from the show. Nevertheless this is a golden opportunity for the industry and hopefully starting with a clean sheet of paper as long as the politics involved don’t overshadow the possibilities that this situation creates.

We will also discuss new product launches as activity is slowly starting again here in Switzerland, but very gently as we don’t want to simply cover these new watches without seeing them in the flesh, proving again the necessity of these physical shows.

But I am also extremely proud to announce that we will soon publish a very special documentary video following the making of Greubel Forsey’s fully hand made timepiece, a fabulous human adventure.

It will be published as three different episodes on here Youtube, while this will be published in one single documentary for our awesome patrons, a little perks for their continued support.

Enjoy and Viva Watchmaking !
