Introducing Ferdinand Berthoud FB 2RE

A timepiece selected in the final round of the 2020 GPHG.

Today we have the pleasure of going behind the scene of the new FB2 by Ferdinand Berthoud, a timepiece selected in the final round of the 2020 GPHG in the chronometry category and you will rapidly understand why in this video. For instance and for the very first time in a timepiece you will find the combination of a "fusée chaine" mechanism and a "remontoir d’égalité” resulting in surprising performances, but the path to achieve this was obviously a complicated one.

And another distinct feature of this new watch is that it comes in a round case instead of the recognisable octogonal case of the FB1 seen over the last few years. But still regarding design, we really like how the mechanical intricacy of this movement is displayed in minimalist way, very pure and efficient.

But furthermore, we have to say that it was a real pleasure to go and visit the team of Ferdinand Berthoud in Fleurier in these peculiar circumstances as we were the first outside team being able to do so and boy it felt good!

So a big special thank to them for this, we hope you will enjoy the video and a huge Viva Watchmaking to you all!
