Richard Mille RM53-01 Ultimate Polo Watch at the 2018 SIHH

When it comes to polo watches, Richard Mille had previously produced a rather daring timepiece with the original RM53. Its main design characteristic was that the dial was protected by a titanium hood like cover and when you see the beating this watch took on Pablo McDonough's wrist, well this protection was far from being only a design element! But this year Richard Mille came with a new iteration of the watch and this protective dimension is achieved and even surpassed by a new technique of combining sapphire layers with a special film seen for instance in armoured glass. This watch holds naturally a tourbillon movement, kind of a mix of movements found in the RM12 and RM27 and it's suspended with a cable system seen on the Rafa Nadal RM27-01.
