Stupendous Withdrawal of the Swatch Group from Baselworld
Well we of course had to come back on the BIG news of he summer with the full withdrawal of the Swatch Group and its 18 brands from Baselworld. This naturally came as quite a shocker, so what does it mean and what were the reason behind it.
We try to come with some explanations and it of course saddens us especially that the organisers had come with what seems like pretty meaningful and positive changes for next year's edition. I was personally happy to hear that visitors will be placed more at the center of the show, with extra activities and experiences, but for the Swatch Group this seemed not to suit them at all.
It sends a very strong signal, but at the same time it is a real opportunity for change, which I hope will be embraced by the remaining brands and even brands not necessarily present.
