Patek Philippe's "Concours Bienfacture & Precision"

Training future watchmakers is naturally very crucial when in it comes to the future of the watchmaking industry and it is no surprise that Patek Philippe feels very concerned about this. This is the main reason which pushed the brand in organising a contest addressed to students currently in their training in the six Swiss public watchmaking schools.

Each school selects 3 students representing them in this contest and these students are then asked to assemble and regulate a Patek Philippe caliber according to precise technical specifications. In this video, you will see what it takes for the students to achieve this and what motivated Patek Philippe in creating this contest with Mr. Thierry Stern, President of the brand.

For its ninth edition, we went and followed these students during the contest and we were also there at the Patek Philippe Museum for the award ceremony and we were very pleased to see that it was a girl that won this year's contest.
