Greubel Forsey & The Signature 1

Greubel Forsey has for sure established itself at the top of what fine watchmaking means and for a company that has started its activity a bit more than 10 years ago, this is quite an achievement! The notion of chronometry is at the core of the company but executed in an innovative interpretation and mastered with what is today the benchmark in terms of no compromise high-end finishing.

Since its start, Greubel Forsey have only produced tourbillon watches and some very spectacular ones, but this year they presented a “simple” three hands watch called Signature with a “normal” escapement. But the very notion of simple and normal immediately takes a special meaning with Greubel Forsey, as this watch is just a concentrate of elegance and fine design. Though it is said in the report that this watch is the first non tourbillon watch of the brand, well this is not exact, but let's say that it is for sure the "less" complicated escapement they have worked on!

The model presented this year comes in 4 variations in terms of case material, platinum, rose and white gold, and for the first time a steel version. It is limited to 66 timepieces overall, but interestingly this is only the beginning of Signature models, as the brand will associate itself with watchmakers, artisans outside of the company to keep developing this line of timepieces in the future. But for this first model, it was Didier Cretin, a watchmaker who has been working for the company since many years, who was leading this project that took 6 years to accomplish.
