Discovering an Engraving Workshop – Episode 8

Historically speaking, a watch is the result of multitude of operations done by many different sets of competencies. Though we have recently seen brands internalize some of the production process, the need for suppliers specialized in very specific tasks still remains. This is even more so when it comes to the various "Métiers d'Art", the special craftsmanship skills such as engraving, micro-painting, enameling and this is what you are about to discover in this new episode of our Watchmaking Roadtrip adventure.

Today, we are about to visit the engraving workshop of Jean-Bernard Michel, located in La Chaux-de-Fonds, who showed us how he works and he even let us have a go at it with some mixed results!
