MB&F Celebrates 10 Years Of Freedom With Its HMX
MB&F is now 10 years old and to celebrate this first decade of disruption in watchmaking, its founder Max Büsser has decided to hit the road with the HMX, a new and smart driver’s watch available in four different colors. On these watches time is visible on a lateral arched window and displayed through discs that are positioned horizontally in the movement. The shape of the titanium case is really admirable because of many curves and variations in the volumes. It evokes a lot of sensitivity and experience in how to embody with taste a movement.
The upper part of the caliber is visible through a thick sapphire glass fixed on the top of the watch. This design evokes perfectly well the back of super cars and it has moreover a little trick. The sapphire glass creates somewhat a fish-eye effect that changes the look of the movement depending from which angle you look at it. Two shiny chrome oil filler caps stand also on the bridges. In addition to be very nice winks to old engines, they are also functional. Watchmaker can unscrew them to oil the jeweled bearings for the indication discs. Speaking about the movement, MB&F developed a new in-house indicator that is driven by a Sellita automatic winding base caliber, which 22 carats gold rotor is visible on the back. Taking all together, these details show that MB&F reached a superior level in disruptive timepieces execution, and also in terms of prices as the HMX are the cheapest machines ever proposed by the brand to honor and thank its fans.
