H3 By HYT, High Technology For A Linear Display At Baselworld

HYT goes from the circle to the line for its display of hours. Following its use of circular microtubes on the H1 and H2, the hydro watch brand launches the H3: its first shaped watch (as it is rectangular). The fluidic display is an adaptation of the existing one, but in this case a mechanical connection exists inside the hour module. Indeed, the fluid goes forth and back four times each day as the hours are visible on a rotating dial with four faces, each outfitted with a series of numbers. Each time the fluid comes back to start a new cycle, one of the two pistons activates the rotation of a quarter turn of the dial to switch to the next series of numerals. But the most stunning technical trick is certainly the linear minutes display. Indeed, it involves a system of gears including, among other elements, satellites and double racks to allow a fluid, stable motion.
