Harry Winston launches the much awaited Opus 14 and delivers

Since the very first Opus launched in 2001 by Harry Winston, every new member of this family of very special watches has always been a much awaited event by the watch community and by collectors in particular. The collaboration of the brand with illustrious and very creative independent watchmakers such as François-Paul Journe, Felix Baumgartner, Greubel & Forsey, Jean-Marc Wiederrecht and Emmanuel Bouchet to name of few, has always resulted in limited series of very spectacular and exclusive timepieces.

When the Swatch Group acquired Harry Winston back in 2013, one of the big question was if they would continue this original collaboration and today we can say without any doubt that they have succeeded in this. Never the less, they marked a one-year pause in this program, giving them the time to not only come out with a great and playful watch, but especially to present a fully functional watch, which was not always the case with previous versions of the Opus…

Nayla Hayek, CEO of Harry Winston, was very proud and thrilled to introduce the new Opus 14 during a joyful event held in Baden-Baden, Germany, plunging us in the spirit of the 1950’s; Road 66, diners ambiance and the world of jukeboxes and turntables was the theme of the evening and obviously the theme of this new timepiece.

In a certain way we can say that Harry Winston inaugurated a new complication, the jukebox complication!!! The Opus 14 has a very original way of displaying its functions with a mechanism that comes and grabs either a GMT, a date or a special customisable plate and puts it in place with a spin before it can be read. This highly complex watch holds a total of 1066 components, comes in a 54.7 mm white gold case and an impressive multilayered glass carved out of one single sapphire bloc.

The Opus 14 is limited to 50 timepieces.
